Peers Assisting With Services PAWS Peers Assisting With Services (PAWS) is a student driven volunteer program at Hewitt Trussville Middle School (HTMS) since fall 2006. The PAWS program is a registered member of the Points of Light Foundation Kids Care Clubs. Each student participating in PAWS is registered with Points of Light. They will receive recognition through the Points of Light Foundation in the form of a lapel pin, letter from the President of the United States, and a certificate of participation. Levels of recognition are based on hours logged in each student’s name. Many colleges and universities place weighted emphasis on community service through volunteer activities.
